19 - Structures passing through Foramen Ovale
The mnemonic : MALE.
Creator : God knows who! but this is one of the oldest mnemonics in the history of medicine, which has found its way into a few textbooks too.
Explanation: This helps us in remembering all the structures that pass through FORAMEN OVALE, which is one of the important foramen on the inferior part of the skull. The structures that pass through Foramen ovale are :
M = Mandibular nerve
A = Accessory meningeal artery
L = Lesser petrosal nerve
E = Emissary veins
